The Glacier High School Choral Department will present “Come
Travel With Me” Tuesday, October 20 at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the Glacier High
School Performance Hall.
The concert will open with all of the choirs on stage for an
exciting performance of an African celebration entitled “Jabula Jesu.’’ The melody is based on a Zulu folk
song. The Glacier Girls will
continue the concert with “Dry Your Tears, Afrika” sung in the Mende
language. The select women’s
ensemble, Glacier Breeze, will change the pace with an arrangement of the jazz
classic, “Tuxedo Junction.” The Glacier Men will continue the travel theme with
the 1960’s hit “Five Hundred Miles.” The Glacier Echoes will present a variety
of selections including “Hernando’s Hideaway” and Michael Buble’s “Haven’t Met
You Yet.” The hauntingly beautiful “Famine Song” will be performed by the
Advanced Women’s Choir.
The Glacier Concert Choir and the Flathead Concert Choir
will combine for the grand finale of the evening concert. “It is so exciting to work with Flathead’s
director, Jennifer Stephens, and her talented students. The audience is in for a treat,” says
Sandee Sauer, the Glacier High School Choir Director.
