Spirit of Christmas Concert 2012

"Joy to the World" to be presented December 18, 2012

You are cordially invited to attend our holiday concert "Joy to the World" December 18 at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.  Glacier Choirs and the Glacier High School Chamber Orchestra will be presenting a wonderful variety of music.  The highlight of the evening is the Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" when GHS alumni join us on stage.  As you can see by the photos, rehearsals are in full swing.  Hope to see you all there!

Glacier Choirs Support "Hat Day for Taylor"

Glacier High School raised over $1000.00 for Taylor Peterson, a Columbia Falls student battling cancer.  Students paid $1.00 to wear a hat in her honor.

A Visit from Dr. Stephen Morscheck

Stephen Morscheck is a professional singer and professor from Texas.  He was in Kalispell to perform Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Glacier Orchestra and Chorale.  He took time out of his busy schedule to conduct a master class with Concert Choir.  What a fun experience - especially when he performed for us!

The Glacier Echoes recently participated in the Glacier Jazz Stampede.  Together with the Columbia Falls Sonifers, the Flathead Choral-Aires and the Whitefish Voce Primo, a gospel choir was formed.  What a fun event!  Be sure to click on the link for more pics: Jazz Stampede 2012

What an incredible day we spent with Rich Nace!  His talent and love of music and people were evident in everything he taught us.  We look forward to spending more time with him at our AA Choir Festival in November.

Glacier Choirs present "Walking On Sunshine" 2012

Glacier Choirs presented "Walking On Sunshine" May 21, 2012 in the GHS Performance Hall at 7:30 pm.  This concert featured a variety of music and award presentations as well as a salute to our graduating seniors.  Song selections included "Love Story" by Taylor Swift, "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's, "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri, "Girls' Sing-Off" from Glee, "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds and "100 Years" by Five for Fighting.  Congratulations to Amy and Kendrick - our National School Choral Award Recipients and Cassidy and Elliot - our Director's Award Recipients.  Seniors - you will be missed! LA Concert Choir Tour - 2012

The GHS Concert Choir and Symphonic Band toured southern California.  What a fabulous trip!  Highlights included Las Vegas (breakfast at Circus! Circus!), Universal Studios, Huntington Beach, a dress-up dinner and Disney Land.  The choir worked with Disney specialists and created a sound track during a live recording session.  The students were amazing and a special thank you to our bus drivers and chaperones.  Click on the link for more pictures: LA Tour 2012

Glacier Choirs present "A Night on Broadway" 2012

You are cordially invited to attend "A Night on Broadway" Thursday, March 22 at 4 pm and 7 pm in the Performance Hall. This biennial concert features five choirs performing a variety of Broadway show-stoppers. Highlights will include "The Lion King; The Broadway Musical" by Elton John and Tim Rice, "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins and Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera." There is no admission charge for this night of music, costumes and choreography.

Kendrick Lee Named to NAfME 2012 All-National Choir

LOCAL STUDENT ONE OF 300 SELECTED TO PERFORM IN NATION'S MOST PRESTIGIOUS STUDENT MUSIC ENSEMBLES JUNE 24 IN WASHINGTON DC

The National Association for Music Education announced the members of the 2012 All-National Honor Ensembles. The students selected will rehearse and perform together in June 2012 in Washington DC. Kendrick Lee, a senior at Glacier, was named to the NAfME 2012 All-National Choir performing as Tenor 1. NAfME established its National Honor Ensembles as the ultimate recognition of music student performance, beyond state and divisional levels. Congratulations, Kendrick!
