"Something to Sing About" Fall Concert - October 24, 2013

You are cordially invited to attend the GHS Fall Choir Concert "Something to Sing About," Thursday, October 24 in the GHS Performance Hall.  This concert will be performed twice - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.  The Glacier Girls' Choir will open the concert with several traditional melodies, including "The Gift of Love" and "When the Sun Goes In," followed by the Glacier Men's Choir singing songs of exploration and adventure.  The girls' jazz choir, the Glacier Breeze, will entertain the audience with the famous swing tune, "In the Mood."  The Advanced Women's Choir will perform songs of love and close with a popular barbershop tune, "Mister Sandman."  The Glacier Echoes recently performed in the Glacier Jazz Stampede Gospel Choir and will sing several tunes from that event.  The Concert Choir will close the performance with Stephen Chatman's work, "Due North." There is no charge for this event.

I am so proud of the amazing performances by the Montana All-State Band, Choir and Orchestra!  I am particularly proud of the Kalispell group - congratulations!

Glacier Jazz Stampede - 2013

The Glacier Echoes had a wonderful time with the Columbia Falls' Sonifers, the Flathead Choral-Aires and Whitefish Voce Primo.  We formed a fabulous gospel choir for the Glacier Jazz Stampede and were honored to get to perform with the Don Lawrence Orchestra.  Check out the pics:

All-National Choir 2013

Alexa Cote' from Glacier High School has been selected as a member of the 2013 NAfME All-National Honor Choir sponsored by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).  Alexa will join more than 670 of the most musically talented and skilled high school students in the United States to perform at a gala concert on October 30, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee.  We are so proud of Alexa and wish her all the best as she blends her beautiful alto voice with 350 other voices.

All-State Choir 2013

Congratulations to our five students who were chosen to sing in the Montana All-State Choir!  Rachel Bjork (Soprano 2), Nathan Connell (Bass 1), Alexa Cote' (Alto 2), Ben Habel (Bass 2) and Nathan MacGregor (Tenor 1).  We will be in Bozeman, MT October 16-19.
