Sing Hallelujah!

Glacier Choirs and Chamber Orchestra presented "Sing Hallelujah!" to two full houses on December 13, 2011. The concert opened with a beautiful piece "Sing Noel, Sing Hallelujah!" involving all 222 musicians on stage. Other songs included "Jingle Bell Rock", "We Three Kings", "Winterlight", and "Cuncti Simus." The concert concluded with the exciting "Hallelujah Chorus." It was wonderful to see Glacier alumni join us on stage for this musical tradition. Thank you to all the performers - I am so proud of you!

Our Western Montana AA Choir Festival, Cross-Ties 2, was held in November. Our gracious host was Flathead High School. Our fabulous guest director was Dr. Geoffrey Boers from the University of Washington in Tacoma. The students really enjoyed singing for Dr. Boers. We all learned so much from this dynamic conductor. After two days of rehearsal, the Cross Town Choirs combined for a wonderful concert - an event our community looks forward to every year. All-Northwest 2012

In the Northwest Division of ACDA (American Choral Directors Association), which covers six states, there are tens of thousands of eligible singers in ACDA member choirs. The Glacier High School Choirs will present "Kaleidoscope Voices" Thursday, October 13 at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the Glacier High School Performance Hall. The kaleidoscope of choirs will present a kaleidoscope of music. Song selections will range from the beautiful "Flying Free" (Glacier Girls) to "Dust in the Wind" (Glacier Men) to "Great Gettin' Up Mornin'"(Advanced Women) to "Kaleidoscope Heart" (Glacier Breeze) to "Operator" (Glacier Echoes) to "Amor de mi alma" (Concert Choir.) There will definitely be something for everyone at this concert. Hope to see you there!

The Glacier Echoes along with Whitefish High School's Voce Primo and Columbia Falls HIgh School's Sonifers have formed a gospel choir that will perform as part of the Glacier Jazz Stampede. They will perform Sunday, October 9 at 11:00 am at the Red Lion Hotel in the Kalispell Center Mall. Also performing with the gospel choir is the amazing Blues Street Jazz Band from California and Louisiana. They are fantastic!

Concert Choir Tour - Seattle 2010

The GHS Concert Choir had a fabulous time on tour this year. We made some new friends at Moses Lake High School in Washington. We managed to travel over an extremely snowy Snoqualmie Pass, thanks to our wonderful bus drivers, Mike and Sharon. We had some delicious dinners at the Olive Garden and the Rainforest Cafe. We took a harbor cruise out of Seattle to the Tillicum Village. The highlight of the trip was performing at the Heritage Festival. The band and choir did an amazing job. The band and the percussion ensemble both did very well. The Glacier Echoes got second place and the Concert Choir got first place along with an award for the top choral group at the festival. Our very own Kaylan Radel received the Maestro Award for her outstanding jazz solo. Glacier High School was thrilled to take home the Sweepstakes Award - a combined effort of the band and the choir. We had a great time traveling to Seattle for the Northwest Division ACDA Conference. Three Glacier students, Jake Gloschat, Kasie Gloschat and Kaylan Radel and I traveled with the students and director from Flathead High School. The Honor Choirs were amazing. I am so proud of our Kalispell singers.
