Holiday Concert December 19, 2017

The Glacier High School Music Department will present “Angel Song” on Tuesday, December 19 at 4 pm and 7 pm in the Glacier High School Performance Hall.  The Glacier High School Choirs under the direction of Sandee Sauer and the Glacier High School Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Sherry Simmons and David Barr will join together in a festive collaboration of holiday music.

Over 200 Glacier High School musicians will perform an amazing selection of songs that are sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit. The audience will enjoy beautiful arrangements of fresh new holiday works such as Rutter’s “Angels’ Carol” and Mason’s “The Merriest Time of Year”, as well as new settings of perennial favorites such as “We Need a Little Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “O Holy Night”. The program will open with all the musicians coming together in a wonderful Joseph Martin rendition of the English Carol “Arise and Shine! Your Light Has Come!” from the cantata ‘Journey of Promises’ and will close with a rousing performance of the “Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's Messiah. Glacier High School choir alumni are invited to join the musicians on stage for this beautiful and exciting holiday tradition.

This year’s performance will include an extensive art show displaying work from Glacier High School students coordinated by Josh Lancaster and the art department faculty. The concert is free and open to the public. Glacier High School invites everyone to join this joyous celebration of the holiday season.

UM All-Star Honor Choir 2018

With hundreds of nominations from Montana, Wyoming, Washington, Idaho and Canada, selection to this year's All-Star Choirs was extremely competitive and both the Mixed and Women's Choirs will surely be the strongest groups yet!  Dr. David Edmonds from the University of Montana will direct the women's choir.  The mixed choir will be under the direction of Dr. Cameron Labarr from Missouri State University.  Congratulations!

The festival takes place February 2-4, 2018 in Missoula, Montana.  The concert will be Sunday, February 4, 2018, 1:00 pm, Dennison Theatre.

NW ACDA Honor Choir 2018

Congratulations! In the Northwest Region of ACDA, which covers six states, there are tens of thousands of eligible singers in ACDA member choirs. Out of all of those singers, the following students have been selected to represent Glacier High School, Kalispell, Montana and our region as some of the very best. Fall Concert October 17, 2017

The Glacier High School Choral Department will present "Autumn Applause" Tuesday, October 17 at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the Glacier High School Performance Hall.

The theme of water will weave it's way throughout the evening.  The advanced women's choir will sing the traditional ballad "Bring Me Little Water, Silvy" and the Canadian folk song "Frobisher Bay." The concert choir will share "Wade in the Water" and Vida's beautiful "Famine Song." The Glacier Echoes will perform the Pentatonix song "Water."  "Codfish Shanty" and the Scottish folksong "Skye Boat Song" will be sung by the Men's Choir.

This concert will also feature the debut performance of the new men's ensemble "Glacier Gust."

The choirs will be accompanied by Debby Gardner and Ashlyn Sliter.  The talented horn player, Paul Rossi, will collaborate with the concert choir on a beautiful piece called "In Remembrance."

There is no admission charge for this concert.

The National School Choral Award is the highest honor for high school choral performers. It recognizes the dedication and musical achievement of the top male and female choral students. This year's recipients are Riley Wilton and Jack Desmul. Congratulations!

Final Concert "Sing Us a Song" May 23, 2017

The Glacier High School Choral Department will present “Sing Us a Song” Tuesday, May 23 at 4:00 pm and again at 7:00 pm.  The concert is free of charge and will be held in the Glacier High School Performance Hall.


The concert will open with nearly 200 voices performing Queen’s classic hit “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The Glacier Girls’ Choir will remain on stage and entertain the audience with “Build Me Up, Buttercup” and “Taylor the Latte Boy.” The Men’s Choir will perform “Doo Wah Diddy” before the Advanced Women sing “Mister Sandman” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Glacier Breeze will perform “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and the Glacier Echoes will cover hits by Billy Joel and the Pentatonix. The Glacier Concert Choir will sing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and the Concert Choir seniors will close the evening with A-ha’s 1985 song “Take On Me.”

Guest musicians include Jack Desmul, Debby Gardner, Ashlyn Sliter and Kristen Toren on piano, Ben Bridwell, Nic Hannay and Kade Nahrgang on guitar and Klaus Rohrbach on percussion.


Individual choral students will be recognized for their performances at district and state music festivals, as well as their lettering achievements.  The Director’s Award and the National School Choral Award will be presented to four outstanding seniors.

From the Glacier High School Art Department, eleven Visual Arts Distinction students will present their senior shows before and after both choir concerts.

Spring Concert March 14, 2017

The Glacier High School Choral Department will present “Come Fly With Me” Tuesday, March 14 at 4:00 pm and again at 7:00 pm.  The concert is free of charge and will be held in the Glacier High School Performance Hall.


The theme of flying will weave throughout the evening.  From Beyonce’s “I Believe I Can Fly” to Frank Sinatra’s “Come Fly With Me” to Chien’s “I Am Flying” which will be sung in Chinese.
The grand finale will be a “Disney Fly Medley” featuring flying songs from Dumbo, Mary Poppins and Peter Pan.

FVCC Women's Choir Festival 2017

Women's choirs from Bigfork, Polson, Columbia Falls along with our own Glacier High School Advanced Women's Choir, gathered for a day of making music.  Our guest director was Kristina Ploeger from Eastern Washington University.  Thank you, Kristina, for a fabulous day! And thank you to Flathead Valley Community College and Nicole Sanford for hosting the event.

Outstanding Local High School Student Selected to Perform at Carnegie Hall

Bria Anderson, a sophomore at GHS, has been selected for the 2017 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. She will perform Alto 2 in February with the Concert Choir. Participation in one of the five Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated high school performers from across the world.
Earlier this year, Bria auditioned and was accepted. Acceptance to the elite group is a direct result of talent, dedication and achievements demonstrated in her application and audition recording. Bria will join other performers from 49 states, Guam, two Canadian provinces and a number of foreign countries for a special performance at world-famous Carnegie Hall, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement.
Finalists will come together in New York City for five days in February 2017. The performance will take place Sunday, February 5, and is open to the public.
We are so proud of Bria!
